Sheriff’s Office Reports Stabbing Incident at North Forsyth High School

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) confirmed a stabbing occurred at North Forsyth High School on Tuesday. A joint press briefing with FCSO, the Winston-Salem Police Department, and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Law enforcement and the school district have informed the families of students, and the district will provide additional updates to parents directly.

Earlier today, EMS reported responding to North Forsyth High School. Further details were not immediately available. WFMY News 2 has a live team on the scene, and our reporter observed some students leaving the campus. The school system has not confirmed whether the school is on lockdown.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) stated there is no immediate threat to the community.

This is a developing story — stay with us for updates.

Editor's note: An earlier report incorrectly identified Corporate Square Drive as a staging area for parents. Police on the scene have clarified that it is not. We are working to confirm the correct location for a parent staging area.
